[Feedback Request] Emma Frost Feedback
Hey folks,
We're starting a fresh round of Hero feedback for all Heroes today so that we have the most up-to-date information about what you think of your favorite Heroes after the introduction of Talents & Traits.
If you have time, we'd like to hear your thoughts on the following questions:
What are your favorite powers or design aspects of Emma Frost? What are your least favorite? Is there a particular power that you enjoy using more than any others, or is there a unique playstyle element to Emma Frost that makes you enjoy them more than other heroes? Are there any powers or Talents that you simply don't like or never use, and if so, why?
Do you have any suggestions that you think would make Emma Frost even more fun to play? The more specific you can be, the better! This can be anything from a change to an existing power, a completely new power or gameplay mechanic, or even cosmetic changes that you just think would look cool!

Primary Attributes Change
I just noticed that when switching to diamond form Emma's primary attributes change from durability & intelligence to durability & strength. This is a drawback to a hybrid build.

Considering Emma
Emma is one of my favorite xmen so I'm considering getting her next. I'm not sure how good she is and shes in contention with Angela and Magik.
How viable is the Diamond form? I know you can't run a pure diamond form but how good is the hybrid build? Anyone have an example of a post hybrid build they can show me? I wish Emma had a talent that turned her physical damage to mental damage like Psylocke does (its so good). Honestly, I don't mind being primarily mental with a sprinkle of diamond attacks.
How varied is her Mental ranged builds? From what I see, there is some variety in whether or not you choose to use minions.

Help with Emma's artifacts please?
Hi
I'm slowly regearing my heroes and am a little stuck with Emma (too much choice...which is a good problem to have :)).
I play completely ranged/mental build, and was hoping someone might know the best four artifacts to equip out of these:
advanced amulet of agamotto
essence of dread
- magneto was right t-shirt
- arnim zola's esp box
- mental focus headband
- sinister's diamond
- (any other obvious BIS artifact that I should be considering)
They all look viable for the build, but any insight would be appreciated.

Builds: Mental, Diamond, and Hybrids: What do we have now?
Im having a p good time leveling Emma up but I'm not sure what kinda build to go for. Right now (I'm lv 30) I have a build that's mostly mental Damage with Show Off and Diamond Haymaker as my only two diamond moves for when I need the armor. I'm also using Psychic Domination and have a minion (I'm pretty certain I need to have that skill in my hotbar for my minion to remain active. Aside from that the DoT seems pretty nice).
My hotbar:
Diamond Haymaker - Show Off - Astral Whip -Telepathic Torment - Sudden dread - Psychic Domination - Psychic Spear - Furious Lunge (Probably gonna replace this)
With the big new update I'm curious as to what some of the most effective and fun build we have out there.

Trying to figure out where to improve Diamond Emma
So my current setup is as follows:
Diamond Crush, Spin Kick, True Queen, Show Off, Diamond Heart, Kneel, Psychic Dom, Lunge. goint 3-3-3-3-1. Pet is a fairly standard Frenzied,Commanding AIM Incinerator.
Synergies are Ant-Man, Cable, Elektra, Emma, Luke Cage, Moon Knight, Psylocke, Squirrel Girl, Wolverine, X-23.
Infinities are fairly straightforward, what i think most people are taking...brut/crit rate, spirit reduction, attack speed, in Dura I'm currently maxing micro warps, and Str I'm going straight Str, since while it's a powerful sig, diamond emma's sig isn't AS devastating as her fleshier counterpart.
Artis are Hyde, GoK, Mane, and SWGN. I'm working to get cosmic versions of most of them, though I should prolly swap the gok for a CTC. Red Skull medallion atm. Relics of Subterra, Power Doop on def uru.
Excalibur legendary, currently an ICP melee ring. FoT, Mzee, Viper, Diamond Stilettos, and Goat with attack speed/defense ratings. pet has 5% defense, 3 dura, working on getting the 10% brutal a nd a good cosmic tier roll. using Cyclops insig, def/crit right now. could be better rolled, and her catalyst could really use work XD. but it's an ARMOR core, at least.
Rotationwise, I go for starting out with Kneel, use a medkit during it to proc Hyde, Diamond Heart, then Spin Kick so I've got the best bleed I can going with the constant refreshes. From there it tends to be 'use everything on cooldown', really, using the post punch spin kicks when nothing else is up to cancel for slightly more damage. if this doesn't work anymore, someone please stop me :o

True Hybrid Emma HERO GUIDE 2017
Do you want to facetank Cosmic content? Can you not make up your mind between punching things with diamond fists and staring intently at things to kill them? Do you want a powerful build on a budget, with potential for incredible gains from more powerful/expensive items?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, this build is certainly for you.
This build focuses on maximing efficiency from Perfection, arguably one of the strongest talents in the game right now. The cooldown reduction to Kneel Before Me is strong in itself, and most builds will be able to take advantage of it through using Show Off (if Diamond build), Astral Whip (if Mental) or using both in a semi-hybrid build.
While this is no doubt a powerful addition to Emma's kit on its own, the real strength of this passive will likely go unnoticed by non-hybrid Emma players: the ability to regen Diamond Armor while outside of Diamond Form. Why is this seemingly subtle ability so powerful? All Diamond players know the value of Diamond Armor, though mental players typically do not gain much benefit from it. A true Hybrid build, though, can maintain a steady flow of Diamond Armor which will massively increase Emma's survivability when she's in melee range whaling on enemies.
TALENTS and SKILL BAR
Row 1: Hardened Armor OR Aura of Authority
This choice depends on what gear you're using (more on that later). Generally, Aura will win out with the recommended artifacts and uniques, however if you're stacking a high enough Defense amount Hardened Armor will likely add more damage. I recommend experimenting with the two and seeing which you benefit more from.
Row 2: Mental Stimulation
This row doesn't do much of anything, really. Just don't take Headmistress, as you want Psychic Domination for the commanding pet and the damage layer.
Row 3: Diamond Presence
Show Off and Spin Kick are core to your rotation. This talent improves Spin Kick greatly. The True Queen I've found too clunky to be used in this build; I prefer the extra damage layer from Telepathic Torment, but YMMV.
Row 4: Unlock Potential
The only real choice for any build, rolling Unlock Potential into usage of Kneel Before Me. Massive buff to survivability and offense.
Row 5: Perfection
The core of the build, as mentioned above.

The rotation is very simple:
Kneel Before Me -> Astral Whip->Telepathic Torment->Psychic Domination->Show Off->Diamond Bladed Spin Kick->Diamond Crush until Astral Whip comes off cooldown, then rinse/repeat from Astral, adding in Psychic Domination when it's off cooldown.
GEARING
Uniques:
Slot 1 - Fragment of Twilight, White Silk Gauntlets
Slot 2 - Phoenix Force Harness
Slot 3 - Dark X-Men Jacket
Slot 4 - Generation X Academy Boots
Slot 5 - Cobra's Hood, Locket of the Lords Cardinal
Legendary:
Level 70 - Gungnir
Level 80 - Shield of Perseus
Relics - Subterrania
Runeword - The Power Doop, 800Def Uru
Ring - Xavier's Class Ring Phys/Mental
Medallion - Hydra Agent Medallion
Pet and Catalyst both want +3 Durability, other stats still in testing.
Insignia is also in flux, though CHR/BHR is likely to be the most pressing gearing issue, so look for one or both.
Artifacts: In order of most beneficial in my experience; mixing and match however you need to, any four of these will give you a good baseline to work with. I haven't yet found the most efficient combination, though, so don't assume the top four listed are the top four together.

You might see a pattern here: we're focused on maximizing generic Damage Rating, Durability and Defense Rating. As we are a true hybrid build, Strength and Intelligence are not as valuable as Durability, though getting them where possible is still worthwhile. Be sure to gear for what you need at the moment, though: don't neglect Crit/Brut, just because GoK isn't listed highly doesn't mean it isn't exactly what your character needs.
If you can get your hands on Cosmic Artifacts, they might be better than the above listed ones. Thus far I've only managed a single cosmic arti, the Bi-Level Concussion projector, and it just happened to have +1500 Defense, so it's become one of the central parts of my build (and made Cobra Hood that much stronger).
In terms of Cosmic artifact affixes we want, they are:
-1500 Defense
-10% Signature Cooldown
-+1 all Attributes
-Maximum Health
If you have spirit issues and can't get your hands on a 100-on-Medkit Catalyst, -15% primary resource cost is a potential option.
With subpar gear(when I had no blessings, no legendary, no Fragment/Hood, a cosmic ring, and no relics) this build managed to easily finish Cosmic Trial and ran CDRs and CMM waves faster and safer than nearly all of my roster. Now that she's geared, Emma is among the strongest characters I've ever played, and one of the most fun.

Emma bug with talents
Mental Stimulation (Inspire Minion refreshes cooldowns on non-signature abilities) does not work with Unlock Potential (talent), which changes Inspire Minion to Unlock Potential (ability). Unlock Potential (talent) causes the ability of the same name to automatically trigger when she uses Kneel Before Me, but it doesn't reset cooldowns on other abilities like it should based on Mental Stimulation.
And all this came about because I can't slot all the abilities I want for Diamond Emma since that second talent tier basically forces me to use something or lose the talent, so I was hoping Mental Stimulation would work and tie up loose ends. Though, for the most part, it is rather redundant since KBM has such a long cast time, most everything would be near refreshed by the time it ends. It would work wonders with Diamond Heart, though.

Slot 1 vs Fragment as Diamond
What are the differences between these? They are both really enticing and I'm not quite sold on one over the other just yet. Losing +8 to primary attributes seems like a pretty big trade off for 600+ more damage from Fragment (among other stats).
Any thoughts?

Emma Frost's Guns
I just received a present of Emma Frost's Punisher Goth costume and I noticed our beloved Emma definitely has toned arms and those guns are amazing. Damn Emma.
I know Emma Frost does work out time to time and she has the best body money can buy, but I never thought she would be that toned. Incredible.
