So, some might have read me coming off rather negative in topics regarding item / power changes lately and that usually isn't me. So this is my attempt to express my thoughts / worries on it in hopefully a more positive way.
from what I have read the new items will be releasing with just 5-7 per character and affixes for power ups. From my understanding that means a player could get "Diamond Kick always crit hits" on their item even if they don't want to play her melee. The new power system is only 2 trees, with third being talents. So that is where I get worried. With such limited items and power trees that does not leave a lot of wiggle room for player preference in a character. So my suggestion is make the new items and the new power trees shift with Emma? What I mean by this are players who want to play her pure mental, then there are those who wish to play her melee. Each player should be able to play her how they wish. Honestly Emma is one of those characters who can fit that.
Through her comic life she has been various roles. (Hero,Villian,Teacher,Guide,Temptress, Punk ^_^ ) Anyone who currently plays Emma knows there is already one power that switches with her. Diamond Mind / Diamond Heart. I won't pretend to know coding / scripting, but wouldn't it be possible to make most of her items and powers function like this? Think it would also open up the third option, those who play her as a hybrid. With the items and powers shifting all three types of players can still enjoy their preferred play style going into Marvel 2017.
I truly am fully on board with the new item / power changes if it means the game is more welcoming to new players. There just has been no word on how it will effect characters like Emma who have a melee and a ranged build option, especially since it was not long ago we finally got her mental build on par with other characters.
